Caught in the act

Ryan and Lola (the cat) have a love-hate relationship: he loves to hate her, and she hates to love him. During the night, I will feel her weight shift off of me as she ever-so-delicately reaches over a tentative paw to touch him while he's sleeping (and therefore less of a threat.) When he's watching TV, I'll often catch her gazing at him lovingly from a distance. You see, she tries to come off as a ferocious creature (which lends itself to Ryan's dislike of her), but in reality she wants nothing more than to be loved. I thought I was crazy to think that Ryan could ever get over her hissing and growling and understand her softer, baby-like side. He comes up with daily ideas of how he can piss her off, like trapping her in the bathroom with him while he's in the shower, holding her upside down, or tying a string around her belly so she stands still. You can imagine my surprise when I peeked around the corner the other night and found this:

BUSTED!!!! (Don't they both look a little bit guilty?)
