The Evolution of a Run

1. At first, it was the run I was dreading, because I was tired and hungry and my calves/shins are still killing me.

2. Then it was the run I was contemplating skipping because it had started snowing and was very, very dark.

 3. Somewhere along my drive home, it became the run I wanted to tackle because it was snowing and very, very dark and man, do I love a good challenge.

4. When I started out, it was a run I was terrified on because I was running on a main road in crappy weather and had to run on the much-reduced shoulder due to bad sidewalks.

5. About 13 minutes in, it was a run where I really hit my stride. This was especially incredible to me considering the lack of footing!

6. It was my first run in my new sneakers.

 7. It was the run in which I ran the longest distance this year and in the shortest amount of time (total of 2 miles walking and running in 28 minutes…what, gotta start setting records sometime, right?)

8. It was the C25K run I was most proud of when I got home.

9. It was the run that just about crippled me with pain in my inner shin bones as soon as I was finished and got inside, but I somehow felt somehow stronger for it.

10. It was the run that justified my pulling out the ingredients above to make one of my favorite soups in the world when I got home (turkey meatball, tomato and spinach),

followed by a yummy dessert I saw on E’s page (One Twenty Five), chocolate stuffed banana! (Instead of regular chocolate, I used a WW turtle)
