Snowy running

Well, I missed Couch to 5K Week 3 Day 2 (AKA C25K W3D2 if you want to say it all cool-like) yesterday because I was very busy at the hospital watching my new godson make his way into the world! Words can't really express the experience, but let's just say it was a miracle. He's beautiful, and I can't wait to squeeze him and love him and call him Z. I'll obsess more over him when I have some pictures to show you.

Back to running...not sure if you noticed, but if you live in or around Massachusetts, driving yesterday looked like this:

Which means that today (and probably the next few days at the very least), there will be a big mess on the sidewalks and roads. Unfortunately, I won't get home until after dark tonight and I don't want to risk running on the road without flashers so I will be hitting the treadmill. HOWEVER, Mego got me these...any idea what that is??? Hint: it's not Cat's Cradle, or a mid-evil diaphragm, or the answer to the Matrix.

No idea? How about another view:
It's not a soccer net or a bear trap. The answer, my friends, are YakTrax!!! These little puppies hook onto your sneakers like this (those aren't my sneakers btw):

And then you can run in the snow hopefully without incident!!!! I can't wait to try them out on Saturday morning. Although, very important to note...they do not work well on linoleum. I almost took the biggest digger in my kitchen trying them out.

Hope you made yourself a nice snow angel.

  1. Jason uses those sometimes to get our garbage at the end of our driveway after a storm! Gotta love New England ;) Be careful running!
