Weekend Weigh-In

I won’t bore you with my reason for being MIA (it was totally work). I’d prefer you think of me being on some fabulous retreat where monkeys were feeding me grapes (don’t worry, they wore gloves…everyone knows they throw their poop).

ANYWAY

I have some good news to report:

I lost 1.8 pounds last week AND I went out for my first run on Saturday after resting the shinny-shins for close to 2 weeks!

I was getting a bit paranoid about having compartment syndrome (might have something to do with me watching a video of the test) so I decided some R & R was in order. Finally, I ran almost 2 miles on Saturday with some significant changes:
  • I wore my new New Balance (sexy) sneakers instead of my Brooks.
  • I changed my stride to be shorter, quicker steps. I’m not sure if this was due to the sneakers or not?
  • I did not wear my calf sleeves. Mainly because I had already laced up my sneakers and I'm lazy.
  • I ran on the soft part that is between the road and the sidewalk as much as I could, even though it was very dog-poopy.
  • I ran faster than before. Like, a full minute per mile average faster. Interesting.
At any rate, I’m kind of feeling like a baller. I’ve also dropped a couple more pounds since Saturday and on Thursday I get to take my measurements. Definitely looking forward to it!

p.s. I missed you guys. I really did.
