Week 2, Day 2

I did my second of three run-for -90-seconds, walk-for-2-mins for 20 minutes yesterday on the treadmill at work. It went superbly. I like running on the treadmill for the instant readout of speed, distance and time (my new watch has all that but I'm clumsy concentrating on not falling on snow outside so it's hard to scroll through). However, the "gym" at my current office is on the second floor. This is GOOD because my company is on the first floor and no one really works on the second floor. I can sneak into the second floor bathroom (note this is also the, ahem, privacy bathroom), put on my gym clothes, and slide into the always empty gym before anyone sees my sweet leggings. However, the second floor location is BAD because I remember one time, I was sitting in the front lobby chatting with the receptionist and I could hear this thundering BOOM BOOM BOOM sound up above. I asked her what it was and she said, "Oh, I think Joe is running upstairs. He's heavy-footed". Well, my friends, Joe may be heavy-footed but he's kind of a little dude. I'm heavy bottomed, topped, and everything in between so I can only imagine what is going on down below when I go charging along at my blistering speed of 5.0 4.8 (on a fast day). In my mind, I'm a gazelle. To the floor, I'm an elephant. Sometimes I imagine that the lights are dimming downstairs with every step I take, and the paperclips on everyone's desks are jumping along until they start toppling down to the floor.

BUT...then I remember that while I'm up sweating my face off on the treadmill, they're downstairs eating Chinese food so you know what? They can suck it and I will have lost weight come weigh-in on Saturday.  Sha-ZAM!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to physically remove myself from sitting in front of the TV watching Bacon Paradise on the Travel Channel. (I was waiting for Grey's and oooooooops I got sucked in.)

Before I forget, yesterday's totals were: 2.0 miles, 31.2 minutes. I can't wait to be running the full time so I can start going FASTER!
